Dr Natalie Bradley - Dentist

Dr Nathalie Bradley, dentist UK

Introducing Dr Nathalie Bradley, a dentist from London UK

"Accessing dentistry should be possible for all members of our society. In my second year out from dental school I was working in a walk in secondary care emergency dental centre and again and again I was seeing vulnerable people who found accessing dentistry very difficult. They were homeless, or vulnerable migrants or had severe mental health problems.
This really affected me and so now I'm working to improve access for these people. I work with adults and children with special care needs including outreach work directly into some of the most isolated pockets of communities in London: homeless centres, care homes, secure mental health units. And these people are so grateful, not just because of the clinical work you do, but often having a sympathetic ear to talk to. It's easy to get caught up in the technical work we do
But I'd like every dentist and indeed every clinician to reach out into their community and think about the social impact we can provide as a profession.
I am a blogger, a bit of a metalhead am a perpetual elementary linguist. From french, to mandarin to sign language I am forever learning the basics of one language before I decide to switch to another! And the first thing I learn is how to say I'm a dentist!"
